Experts Discuss Consequences of Climate Change for Cultural Heritage (in German)
- Jürgen Renn
- Dept. I
Cultural and natural heritage sites worldwide are exposed to a variety of threats, including climate change. What strategies could be used to protect them?
In this recording of the public hearing of the German Bundestag subcommittee "Foreign Cultural and Educational Policy," the committee and experts discuss possible risks, perspectives, and opportunities for preserving cultural heritage from climate change. MPIWG Director Jürgen Renn draws particular attention to the need for new forms of academic cooperation in order to save both cultural and natural world heritage sites: local knowledge must be used and shared.
