Staffan Mueller-Wille

I am teaching at the University of Exeter and my research stretches across the history, philosophy and social studies of the life sciences. I have worked extensively on the history of taxonomy, with a focus on Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778), and on the cultural history of heredity, including the history of race and kinship in anthropology.

I am Associate Director of the Centre for the Study of Life Sciences (Egenis) and member of the Centre for Medical History at the University of Exeter. I am also Editor-in-Chief of History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences, and serve on the Board of Directors of the Ischia Summer School for the History of the Life Sciences. I hold an Honorary Chair at the Institute for History of Medicine and Science Studies at the University of Luebeck.
