The second book in the “Science & Society Translated Works" Chinese translation series, edited by director Dagmar Schäfer, MPIWG Board Member Angela Creager, and Dong Liu, has been published. The book Patently Contestable: Electrical Technologies and Inventor Identities on Trial in Britain (originally MIT Press, 2013), by Stathis Arapostathis and Graeme Gooday, examines fierce disputes that arose in Britain in the decades around 1900 concerning patents for electrical power and telecommunications.
Its publication follows the first book in the series—a Chinese translation of the English-language History of Science Reader, published by Zhejiang University Press in April 2019.
