Director Jürgen Renn has been appointed as a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute (Deutsche Archäologische Institut, DAI). 

The DAI has 20 locations worldwide, including Berlin, and carries out excavations and research in archeology and ancient studies.  Its members originate from around 50 countries and belong to all areas of archeology and other ancient sciences.

Since its foundation, researchers from the DAI's network of national and international cooperations have been elected annually as members by the central directorate and the electoral committee.
