Carola Oßmer Awarded "Förderpreis der Gesellschaft für Geschichte der Wissenschaften, der Medizin und der Technik (GWMT)"

Postdoctoral Scholar Carola Oßmer has been awarded the "Förderpreis der Gesellschaft für Geschichte der Wissenschaften, der Medizin und der Technik (GWMT)." She receives the prize for her doctoral dissertation "The Invention of the Normal Child: The Developmental Norms and the Visual Technologies of Arnold Gesell’s Laboratory (1911–1948)."

In her dissertation, Carola Oßmer examined how the educator Arnold Gesell and his team created norms of supposedly normal childhood in an influential photographic research program after World War I. You can find out more about the project here.
